Waterloo Region Nature Kids (WRN Kids) is sponsored by Waterloo Region Nature and is all about providing great opportunities for kids to enjoy nature.
WRN Kids is a great place for Kids 7-12 years old to bring an adult and get together, share exciting nature experiences, and learn more about our amazing local environment.
We meet once a month at the Laurel Creek Nature Centre (address below) and spend 2 hours exploring a nature-themed topic. During 2018-19, we’ll learn about Monarch butterflies, aquatic creatures, indigenous skills, endangered turtles, the night sky (special evening program), and we’ll snowshoe (if it snows on the right day!), and plant trees — and more! Stay tuned for news about extra adventures on our bonus outings, too!
Who Can Join?
WRN Kids is open to children 7-12 years of age and registration is necessary. The Kids bring a parent, guardian or other adult along and participate together.
What Does It Cost and How Do I Sign-up?
Sign up now for the 2018-19 season! WRN Kids meets on the last Saturday of the month from September to May from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The cost of registration for the 8 sessions (no program in December) is $45.00 for the first child and $40 per child thereafter. Registration during February through April is half price.
